CAMEL TREKKING

Camel riding is  the most ancient and original way of moving through the desert.

With the camel the beduin travel over long distances. This animal is perfectly  adapted to the harshness of this kind of environment. The "gift of Allah" as the beduins call it, is more than a simple transportation facility. The camel is considered  a companion within the hard life of the beduin. Riding a camel is indeed something very special. The way you experience the desert is very different than driving through it by car. As you move almost soundless and relatively slow, you observe the landscape intensively providing more time to experience and understand this fascinating environment.

We offer three standard camel trekking tours. All cover different tracks in the area Hurghada to Shelatin with landscapes of far stretching high plains and  narrow wadis surrounded by high mountain cliffs.
The daily amount of riding comes up to 4 to 5 hours. Each member of the safari has his own riding camel. There is one beduin to take care about two camels.
bedu with camel The riding is split in a morning and an afternoon part. Lunch will be taken along the route.
There will be a car with us for transport of supplies and luggage which we will meet at the different sites for night camp.
During the 10 day safari there will be one resting day in an area of special interest from where we can make short hikes to nearby
sites.
