| This safari combines nature, archaeological sites that date from pre-dynastic till roman times, and hiking in the desert. You will be guided along sites in the southern Eastern Desert
that are rich in rockart.
Day 1: After pickup from your hotel you will travel by minibus along
the Quser-Quft road till the ancient caravan station and quarries of Hammamat (ca 130km). Pre-pharaonic and pharaonic petrogliphs give testimony of the many travellers and expeditions that visited this place in ancient times.
From here 4WD jeeps will take you into the desert to a roman caravan station where you will have lunch and afterwards continue to the base camp. A hike among sand dunes will highlight the sunset.
Day 2: After breakfast you will visit several petrogliph sites by jeep. A 2 till 3 hour hike will take you to the lunch site.
During the afternoon various additional petrogliph sites, ancient tombs and a well will be visited.
Day 3: During the morning the jeeps will take you along interesting ancient sites
along the old caravan route.
After lunch you’ll meet your bus at the asphalt road and return to your hotel, where you will arrive late afternoon.
